Brooks, like most capital equipment manufacturers, uses certain of these conflict minerals in the manufacturing of its products. As a result, Brooks has begun preparing for compliance with the reporting requirements based on the draft SEC rules. This preparation includes identifying all conflict minerals contained in each Brooks product, identifying the direct source from which Brooks obtained the conflict mineral (or parts containing such colnflict minerals), and where necessary, requesting each applicable Brooks suppliers to identify its source for conflict minerals.
